The beginning of Twenty-first century is characterized by a rapidly changing situation. The situation created in the context of 9/11 has led to an atmosphere of national and international anarchy and chaos at every level. Terrorism, Target killing and misuse of power lead to psychological disorders like fear, anxiety and insecurity among the people of backward countries. Urdu Afsana has accepted the effects of these psychological disorders directly. This article reflects these psychological elements in the contemporary Urdu short stories.
